What Makes Us Tick

All is well guys.. I want to thank all of you for doing your best to make baseball a great experience for your kids... I also want to say to you if we keep our youth off the streets and very active in youth sports we may be able to keep our youth safe and give them a great head start in life.. Sports gives children discipline and the understanding of team work and leadership... This is one of the main reasons I am involved in youth sports.. I have been doing this for about 17 years now with both boys and girls softball and baseball and football (NCYFL.org - is the football league) and in little league too.. I think little league is a great spot to start out most youths in sports. Travel ball brings it to the next level. Travel football and baseball in the young ages is where I think most kids really learn about hard work and leadership and how great it is to perform well with other talented athletes... When you get 9 great 10 year old ball players( it doesnt matter what age) on the field it is great to watch them play and develop. Its just unbelievable to watch how they learn and pick up the game of baseball this is team work.. ITS GREAT !!! ...

Aim's And Ideals

•N.C.Y.A.A. We are a Nassau based operation and have been involved in baseball for over 30 years. We started this league because over the years we have seen leagues NOT CATER TO THEIR TEAMS. We are hoping to change that. We want to offer your team a chance to play good baseball with other towns all year around. •What we did as an organization is made it very simple. All you have to do is show up, bring baseballs and play the games. We do all the work, all-scheduling, provide two regulation umpires at all levels, and supply the required insurance 20-game schedule including playoffs. The first place team will have a paid bid, up to $450.00 to the tournament of their choice. Help is just a phone call away, your calls will always be returned. •We offer 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u ,14u, 15 and 16 year old divisions. As of 2003 we will be adding age?s as we move on. The main goal is to have a good atmosphere for your children. We want them to enjoy baseball, learn the game and be respectful to their coaches, umpires and most of all there teammates (we want them to learn good sportsman ship on and off the field). •We have a ZERO TOLERANCE rule for coaches, parents and players. We?ve seen in the past that these rules are not enforced. This will not be the case here. We will remove your team from our league if our rules are not followed. To the tee, we are in constant touch with our umpires; also our league officials will be in attendance to all games. This will be an easy thing to do because we are keeping our league a Nassau County Town of Hempstead based operation. Our goal is to have an Eastern division, a Central and Western divisions, then have our own Long Island World Series .We think as time goes on we will invite other quality organizations to our L.I. World Series. •NOW that will be good baseball too see who is the best of best on Long Island. Thank you for joining our Association and we hope we can make it a great experience for you and your children. •The N.C.Y.A.A will also host 3 tournaments a year. Long Island is a great place to visit; it is close to Manhattan and we also have great beaches for them to enjoy. Lets play ball and have fun.( BASEBALL) The great American past time. What could be better than seeing some of our ball player live out a dream lets help them get do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just unbelievable to watch how they learn and pick up the game of baseball this is team work.. ITS GREAT !!! ... I also want to let you know of the scholarship fund we have. It's still early for some of the youth in our league, but we are getting close that the oldest kids that have played it the NCYAA will be 17 next year .. We will be giving out the scholarships to boys or girls that have played in the NCYAA in their youth and have played baseball/softball/football through high school and have a 'B' or better grade point average when they graduate .. What will have to be done is that you as their coach, will summit a letter about that child and give all their info including what team he played on with us (NCYAA), what high school he goes to, what their grades are, a letter from coaches, and what ever accomplishments he has achieved in school (including athletic, academic awards and any community work). And most of all a letter from him about why baseball made him a better young man. We will start by giving out 3 a year. This will depend on how our fund does, but our goal is 3 for the first year and we will see how it goes. I want to tell you a story of a coach and a team ..The boys where about 9, it was a beautiful day on a ball field ..the boys were having fun, the coaches were having fun; everyone was having fun. They were winning the game it was another great day playing baseball...THEN came a call from the ump and a few of the boys started to complain. Whether it was bad or good didn't matter, this day the boys were all getting upset ....the coach stopped the game, took his boys to the side and asked what is going on; we can not behave this way ..the boys still upset were telling the coach it was wrong and that we should do something the ump made a bad call ...the coach stopped and asked the boys where did you guys ever learn this from this is not the right thing to do ...to the coaches surprise the boys said it was you coach.....Well guys, I think you know who that coach was: yup it was me ...what a shock I was hit with a truck. I couldn't believe what I just heard, it was a big awakening for me! I was close with the boys and had this team for a few years and I'm still close with some of them. I learned a big lesson that day ..to this day after a game, on the ride home, I check with my kids whether it be one of my daughters or son a player on my team I ASK THEM HOW WAS THE COACH TODAY they never lie ...well from that day on I always have to think whenever I am on the field whatever I do/did these kid are/where watching and learning... What I really need is to say thanks to all you guys that put hard work into helping the CHILDREN. If it wasn't for guys and girls like you, WHERE WOULD THESE KIDS BE ?!.. No matter what people say about you or what they think, remember everyday you get on a field with these kids you are keeping them out of trouble and most of all remember they look up to you and believe it or not they use you as a role model.. So always be on your best behavior and always teach them what winners are made of ... If winning a baseball game, or for that matter any game, is so important, just remember how hard it is to succeed in the real world.. So enjoy these years and have fun. Work everyday to keep these athletes on the right path as some will never play after high school so make this their best times and always know that they are doing the best they can and they know when they "SCREW UP".. So be easy on them when they make a mistake. Just think of the one(s) we have made in our lifes.. I could go on and on about this but i think you are getting the drift ...thanks again for making the ncyaa one of the best travel baseball leagues around KEEP IT UP !!!!!!
